It takes a lot of courage to release what you’re familiar with because it provides the feeling of security, however, there is no security in what is no longer meaningful. For me, security lies in my passion for life and the abundance of positive energy I encounter on a daily basis. I have come to the realization that life’s everyday movement has taught me humility, change has taught me versatility and my adventures have shown me to believe in the moment again. When there is change, there is power and with that comes knowledge and self fulfillment.

LIFE.
Someone will walk into your life that will change or disrupt your trajectory. They will shake your beliefs and challenge you while triggering emotions that will teach you more about yourself. They will stand by you as you work towards fulfilling your purpose and be your supporter through the good times and bad. They will lay down markers in your timeline that will bring about change because they will teach you as well as be taught by you. My belief is that this individual will have opposing views based on differing life experiences, but they will educate you about things in life that will be beneficial to your life’s mission. You will become familiar with the other side of this individual that others don’t get the privilege to see and once you meet this person, you’ll be blessed to have crossed paths.
HAPPY PLACE.
PASSION.
Passion. What is it exactly? For the longest time I have asked myself what it is that gives me that feeling of excitement, a sense of purpose. For some, it may be pursuing your dreams (whatever that may be) or creating the next big thing that will impact the world in a positive way. At times we may assume and have an idea about what really drives us, but are you able to pinpoint it right away by just thinking about it? For me, my passion is still developing and over time it has welcomed unexpected paths that brought both complicated and rewarding outcomes. My belief is to never stop developing and pursuing what makes you happy. And once you discover the driving force that makes you passionate about something, it will generate autonomy that will lead you towards self respect which will impact your life in a tremendous way. The process of becoming amazing at something takes continuous time and effort and for me, that’s the real secret to finding your true self and purpose in life.
PURSUIT OF PRETTY.
True beauty radiates from within. It’s that glow, spark and energy that illuminates from your soul. When you’re beautiful from the inside, you have a sense of your self-worth which is embraced with confidence…and through time, this kind of beauty only gets better with age. To the women reading this, you are beautiful and when you take the time  to nourish your soul and live in your essence, you will radiate a kind of energy and beauty that no one can compete with, remember that.
LAYERS.
She can be moody but dependable, vulnerable but guarded, and worrisome of change but can learn to adapt. Despite her calm facade, she experiences every emotion because she loves and cares deeply. She is cautious who she opens up to. She is a lover and a friend who is in it for the long haul, while standing by your side through thick and thin. She has layers. She is interesting. She is simply, ME.
In less than a week I’ll be turning 29 and what a journey this year has been. I found love when I thought love was lost and I’ve learned how adapt to change as well as welcoming spirituality back into my life. My life holds my layers and this year has shown me that only a few people are fully capable of understanding the real me, outside this blog and social media. It takes courage to open up to someone, but even more courage to learn to understand another individual on a level that welcomes vulnerability. I am no-where near where I want to be, but my layers continue to unfold with every passing day, bringing me one step closer to who I am going to become.
ME, MYSELF, & I.
What makes your heart beat faster that it makes you feel a powerful desire to take on the world? If you were to ask me this same question 5 years ago, I would have said, “Having a career that allows me to live lavishly and completely supports me in ways I never dreamed of, while having a closet filled with high-end items that closely resembles Carrie Bradshaw’s epic walk in wonder.” Now that I am older, my ideal outlook on life has changed significantly and I have my experiences to thank for that.  Although it would be nice to have all the things I once dreamed of, it doesn’t necessarily mean true happiness.  The past year has been a period of growth in terms of personal relationships and my own well-being and through this time, I was able to find what makes my heart beat faster.  I learned the hard way that I don’t need much to truly be happy and the details of luxury often times yield the same results, but lack the lasting effects that simplicity has to offer.  A wise man once said, “Possessions, outward success, publicity, luxury – to me these have always been contemptible. I believe that a simple and unassuming manner of life is best for everyone, best for both the body and the mind.” -Albert Einstein
