I’m back in Newport Beach so of course I had to dine at Fig & Olive. This place is gorgeous and their decor is beautiful! Let’s just say if Restoration Hardware were to give birth to a restaurant, Fig & Olive would be its offspring. I’m never disappointed when I visit this place and their warm and welcoming atmosphere & open windows are sure to capture the heart of anyone who dines here.

BIG MAN BAKES.
“The Big Man” (Chip Brown) was actually a physician-in training when he began selling his cakes to colleagues at the hospital more for fun than as an enterprise. At 6 foot 5 inches tall, the “Big Man” who looks like a linebacker, used baking as a stress reliever for all those long hours of study. He also discovered a natural correlation between chemistry in the lab & the chemistry of the perfect cake, as well as the art of healing through great cupcakes! While navigating through careers in medicine, politics & technology, Chip ultimately collaborated with long time technology guru Claudine Grier, a former Microsoft executive, & together they launched Big Man Bakes in October 2009 in the Old Bank District in Downtown Los Angeles with a mission to win the hearts, minds & sweet appetites of folks around the globe. Now, Big Man Bakes has appeared on the Food Network, CNN, & OWN (Oprah’s network) and has been listed as one of the top ten bakeries by the Los Angeles Times.
COFFEE BREAK!
NATIONAL DONUT DAY!

The first Friday in June is known as “National Donut Day.” It was created succeeding the Donut Day event that was created by the Salvation Army back in 1938 to honor both men & women who served donuts to soldiers during World War I. Â In honor of those who served our country, eat a donut and enjoy this tasty deep fried treat! It’s the best excuse to indulge in a few extra calories.
SWEET.
BLUE BOTTLE COFFEE.Â
Â
I think it’s safe to say that I’m addicted to coffee and my frequent consumption proves this statement to be true. Blue Bottle Coffee is located in DTLA in the Arts District and it has become one of my go-to spots when I need a quick pick me up in the area. Their coffee is smooth providing just the right amount of sweetness to satisfy my caffeine indulgence. Â If you’re a coffee connoisseur trust me, this place is amazing and their cold brew takes coffee to another level. Their sleek and contemporary design is captivating once you enter, yet still providing a calm and cool atmosphere for those who want to get some work done while enjoying a cup of coffee. Blue Bottle Coffee’s logo is simple & cute, thus allowing it to become a staple in the DTLA area. Anyways, it’s a warm & beautiful Sunday so enjoy a cold caffeinated beverage if you’re in the area. Cheers!

When the weather is gloomy with a cool breeze, Downtown San Diego’s Underbelly is where I like to get my Ramen fix. The menu is simple, quick and easy even for picky vegetarian eaters like myself.  All I have to say is, the hype about this place is R E A L so come  in & and enjoy some Asian Fusion dishes that will keep your belly happy.

The Classic Coffee located in Downtown Los Angeles is where I refuel after a long day. Not only do I live off coffee on the daily, but I’ve  come to the conclusion that I bleed caffeine because of my high consumption of this tasty beverage. With so many great tasting coffee shops all over LA, I always choose this place because not only is it a cute IG worthy location (yes, I just said that) but the baristas are always welcoming with a smile on their face. Yummy tasting coffee along with photo worthy lattee art that’s paired with awesome customer service are the main reasons why I’m a loyal customer here.  I’m hoping I’ve sold you on this place and if I have, come over and have a cup of coffee while you enjoy the beauty of downtown through their glass windows.
