The Walt Disney Concert Hall is a prime example of a deconstructivist structure which was developed from postmodern architecture. By looking at the concert hall as a whole, you are able to see the manipulation of the structures surface along with its non-rectinilinear shapes. As your eyes move along the hall, you will find the dislocation and distortion of elements in its architecture. The unpredictability and controlled chaos of the concert hall are both mesmerizing and visually stimulating, encouraging the visitor to look up and enjoy every angle of this eye-catching masterpiece.

This past weekend I was able to get up close and personal with the oldest remaining commercial building in Los Angeles. The Bradbury Building is similar to an Italian Renaissance facade exposing its brown rich exterior. As I entered the doors, I was mesmerized by the eye-catching interior that forces you to look upward and appreciate the beauty of the sky light from above. The natural light allows you to see the polished wood along with its cast iron staircase and Italian marble floors giving you the feeling of a Parisian courtyard or foyer. In the film, 500 Days of Summer, Tom (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) attends a job interview inside the Bradbury Building. This scene perfectly depicts the authenticity of the building and the details of the famous cast iron staircase. The history and popularity of the Bradbury building has definitely become a tourist attraction for many & for me…it’s just another way to get closer to JGL.

I have a strong impulse and desire to explore, travel and wander. Wanderlust is the term used to describe my free spirit and my need to explore is just one of the many reasons why I enjoy Los Angeles, CA. I believe that exploration is important for self realization and for me, cultivating life’s pleasures is achieved by traveling through unfamiliar areas with the purpose of gaining new knowledge. Follow me & take my hand…I’ll show you amazing things.

The Classic Coffee located in Downtown Los Angeles is where I refuel after a long day. Not only do I live off coffee on the daily, but I’ve come to the conclusion that I bleed caffeine because of my high consumption of this tasty beverage. With so many great tasting coffee shops all over LA, I always choose this place because not only is it a cute IG worthy location (yes, I just said that) but the baristas are always welcoming with a smile on their face. Yummy tasting coffee along with photo worthy lattee art that’s paired with awesome customer service are the main reasons why I’m a loyal customer here. I’m hoping I’ve sold you on this place and if I have, come over and have a cup of coffee while you enjoy the beauty of downtown through their glass windows.

Aesthetically pleasing and visually stimulating art work is how I would describe the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles (MOCA). The primary pieces that are shown here are European and American contemporary art consisting of pieces that date back from the 1940’s. When I walk into each room, I go in with a purpose; to get lost and forget where I am. I’ve always been a frequent visitor to art museums and it’s because for me, art magnifies my thoughts to the point I can’t hear my mind. So when I want to explore and lose my mind for a bit, I come here because this is where I find my solitude.

It amazes me how quickly things change. In a blink of an eye, I see 16 years of memories flash before me as I look at this photo of my niece. Her mother is one of my best friends and I’ve known her since I was 12 years old. Today, she is happily married with two kids of her own and living that ideal white picket fence lifestyle (which I totally love!). I’m at a point in my life where all my friends are getting married and having kids of their own and it’s a bit mind boggling when I think about it. Over the years, I have learned that life is strange and sometimes people grow to where feelings eventually change, but those who choose to stay in your life will continue to do so. To my very best friends in the whole wide world, cheers to an amazing 16 years! I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us and the wonderful memories we will create in the process.

Bright city lights stretching from all directions is one of the many things the Ace Hotel in DTLA has to offer. This beautiful boutique hotel has a rooftop bar that offers an amazing cityscape view of LA as well as tasty drinks that continue to keep me happy and satisfied. I don’t know about you, but I’m a sucker for views and this rooftop is a great way to relax and unwind from a long day. So with that said, have a fancy cocktail or two, drink up & surround yourself with positive vibes ..it is after all a Tuesday!

Spring may be in the air, but the summer sun was definitely shining bright today. Del Mar beach is one of my favorite spots in San Diego, CA. This picturesque landscape is one of many eye catching locations this area has to offer. If you want an ocean view overlooking the gorgeous Pacific Ocean, visit Del Mar and take in its beauty.
I LOVE YOU, M O M.
